Thanks Les. There is a “genre” of my pics I think of as ‘tableaux’ (as in tableaux vivants), which I suppose you are noting as “theatrical”. Even though all photographs are instants of time held suspended, these ‘tableaux’ remind me of paintings of people ‘posing’. And for some reason I almost always imagine them in egg tempera.
