When Russell Crowe was in Bangkok a few years ago, he posted “wire shots” on his Instagram, among many other more or less “iconic” features of our City of Angels. His, although lacking the aesthetic intentionality of mine, went viral.
The Bangkok Metro Administration has often announced their intention to get these things underground and out of sight, mainly I suspect as a sop to western tourists and expats who find the whole “looks like Hamilton Ontario in the 50s” thing rather distasteful. Not to mention dangerous of course.
I find them rather lovely in a way, at night, under competing sources of light.
