Sodium Nights

There is a shot I want to make that captures the clash of streetlight tech that is taking place in the Bangkok region these past couple of years: sodium-vapour orange vs LED cool-but-wide. Our small soi replaced its orange nights with cool “blue” (actually just a wider spectrum of light) about two years ago but the larger “feeder” soi ours runs off has held onto its sodium. This means that when walking or riding out to the main soi you are approaching a zone where the two color ranges are crossing and blending. One day.

Over-exposure helps limit the syrupy over-saturation that happens with “properly” exposed shots under sodium lamps, And the increasingly common LED headlights cut through the warm like knives through butter.
