I love these khlongs, narrow canyons running off from all varieties of “street” in the Bangkok region.
When I look at them, my first impulse is to render them in black and white because what appeals to me in khlongs is first and foremost the formal elements of their relationship to “streets”.
The problem is that when I get home and start editing, the complexity of shapes and tones, the sheer messiness of khlongs, make it too difficult for me to bring out what I want. So I usually end up using a color version.
This one is an exception. I like this.
